Tax time will soon be here. In order to list a donation in your tax returns you must make any donations before the last day in December.
We are a worthwhile place to give a donation. We serve Jesus by encouraging persons to read the Bible, pray, and ask God to explain its meaning to them as they read it.
We also try to help the homeless on the streets of NY. Richard Hobbs is our principle worker and volunteer. He serves Jesus with or without pay. Many Christians have no respect for him and so they do not support him. In most cases these are Christians who look at the outsides of persons and not on the insides.
Richard has always earned his own money (though not much) and worked for free using his own money and a few other dollars a few give him to serve Jesus. He also teaches about health and nutrition. He sells a few products but has never been able to make a profit from them because he often gives them out and never is paid or sells them at cost.
During the past five years, he has really been attacked by God's chief enemy in this world and has been forsaken by many. Others have befriended him. He is often controversial. However, that serves Jesus because it makes persons think and rethink about themselves and their relationship with God. I hope that some find salvation through it. He has worked over the years to bring persons to Christ and has helped several Churches have members join who support those churches well. The leaders of those churches are now high minded and refuse to recognize this. Therefore, he sleeps homeless on the trains when he is in NYC where any one of these several churches could open a door and let him sleep in the warm church. To the leaders of those churches it is more important to keep those sanctuaries looking clean and smelling good than it is to provide warmth and comfort to one of God's children and one of their fellow followers of Jesus or even simply to another human being.
The house in Ohio, has been burglarized while Richard has been in NY trying to assist his mother and interacting with various Christians and persons who claim to be Christians there. When he is in Ohio, he cannot (Legally) sleep in the house because the water is turned off. When he is in NY, he has no place he can sleep. He must help his mother move. It seems that she should move to Ohio so he can be near her. He does not see his being able to afford to live in NY. Ohio is affordable but there are few Jobs there. Still Ohio seems more workable than NY. Richard cannot qualify for Section 8 because he was relocated by a federally funded program and he was told has to wait till after five years, as he understands it before he can receive other help. There are reasons why this might not be true but he is too overwhelmed with things to do deal with that now and too far trapped in personal poverty to be able to even speak to anyone in Washington about it. However, the Government is very unreliable on this and it may not be so.
The plan is to clean up and fix up the house in Ohio. Set the first floor up as a section 8 approvable apartment. Then move his mother there. She would rent for a year and hopefully use the USDA Rural Development funds to buy that house. The questions are whether she can get the same level of help in Ohio that she has received in NY. Homemakers, a nurse twice a week to check her blood sugar level and to sort of keep her on an even keel. Medical and other care. If her level of support will not go down then this should be a good move. If it will diminish then she should not move.

I have arrived in Steubenville.
I have my car registered. So now, I am legal. Pray this car lasts.
While I have been away from Ohio (I have been in New York dealing with my mother) thieves have entered the house 213 Edgar Avenue and burglarized it. They have taken much and left a mess. This is sad. However most of what they have taken I can live without or will have to buy again. (This is one of the ways God’s enemy attacks me. Because I am a Christian believer, I must forgive them and pray for them. I wish I could know who they are so I can tell them about Jesus and how much he loves them and help them so they could stop doing this. They might be drug motivated. Jesus Save them and help them. Amen.)
Now I have a major Job to clean up the mess and try to set things right.
I suppose it could take two to four days of cleaning to straighten everything out. I do not know if I should busk in Pittsburgh, (sing on the street corners for tips.) This is the best time of year to do it. Or should I clean up the house. It needs to be done to try to make it available for my mother as a Section 8 tenant. On the other hand, Should I go to New York to help her find an apartment there? I can not afford to drive back and forth.
Then there are the following jobs to do.
Living room: Scrape the remaining wallpaper off the ceiling in the downstairs dining room.
Paint the ceiling.
One floorboard has bowed from the flooding.
It bends up above the floor under the rug. This needs to be cut out and have another new board put there. Then the rug must be replaced or a new rug placed there.
Kitchen: The kitchen sink needs to be made to work. This may simply involve turning the water on in the basement. It may require new hot and cold-water plastic pipes.
It needs to be cleaned again.
A Refrigerator.
A Stove
A Clothes washer and dryer.
Bathroom: A room is the access to the cellar and has a toilet in it and a sink.
There is a space there for a walk in shower tub arrangement. It would be large enough for a person in a wheelchair to use I believe.
In this room, the ceiling has fallen and needs to be replaced.
The tub must be purchased and installed. The sink needs the water and drain made to work. This will be the bathroom.
Extermination:
There could be varmints it has been unused for a few months.
I need to do whatever one would do to get rid of any rats or varmints that might be living in or around the house.
Treat the house for termites. I understand I need to put used motor oil in the ground in outside the house in the areas where termites are thought to be.
Access:
Fix the rear outside so there is one easy access platform for a handicapped person. This is not mandatory but is a desired thing to do.
In the basement, we need a new water heater. A hot water on demand system rather than a tank would be preferred. Can I get any help from whoever some government agency or other group to put in an earth friendly on demand unit?
I believe the furnace works. It needs a part. However, it has not run for a year so anyone knows.
Then some door must be installed and a wall closed so the first floor can be more secure.

I hope to find a way to do all this and arrange to have the house available for my mother to rent as a section 8 tenant by some time between Jan first or March first. The sooner the better.
Dear God how can I do this? Will you show me the way and encourage me to do it. I also need to find a godly Christian person who can rent a room upstairs. In addition, We can use one of the upstairs rooms as an office for the Church.
The bathroom upstairs needs the water running to the sink and the tub. It needs the tank to the toilet replaced. Upstairs needs some cleaning and re-arranging.
Now I am going to go to the small local church here and pray. Tomorrow I will email you again. I went yesterday Monday and tonight I shall go to another Tuesday. I will give them copies of this letter. So far no one has ever responded with any actual help to any of these letters. Therefore, I do not expect much. On the other hand, God is a great God and he always has someone who loves him well enough to do the things he has asked us to do. I need to find a warm place to stay. I need to get the water turned on in the house and the heat operating. Then I will stay in the house and survive.
The greatest need I have is to find someone who would stay there with me and help do all this work. It needs to be someone reliable who would not steal. A non-smoker. Especially if I can find someone who knows how to do the sort of work, I am speaking about. It might be possible to have them stay there. This is one of the better ways to prevent future burglaries. If a single make person is a Katrina refugee who would be interested in this arrangement that might be a great answer to several needs. Or anyone who others could testify about their honesty and reliability would be good too.
I am passing this info around to various agencies and individuals hoping God can network us with others to get this done. Otherwise I will do it myself to the extent I can do so.
As for me this is my situation.
I am a professional busker, a traveling actor, balloon artist, and who works on street corners to make tips. I have never made much money at this but I traditionally have worked four to six months a year, earned about ,000 doing this and spent four to six months helping homeless persons on the Streets of NYC networking them and helping a very few to get back on their feet. I only help persons who are not using drugs alcohol or tobacco to get back on their feet. Persons using Drugs, alcohol or tobacco I help to find others who know how to help them get over their addictions. I have done a lot of listening to others and networking in the City. Simple things that have great benefits to those I help.
However, Circumstances have really overtaken me. During the last six years I became homeless myself for the first time in my life. I had lived in a very inexpensive rent controlled apartment in NY. The government did an urban renewal program. It failed to help me relocate. I became homeless as a result. These programs claim to relocate persons adequately but they do not do it. Those of us who are victims have no place to turn. No support to aid us. The Govt. workers are deaf, dumb and blind as to the needs. They parrot the laws and rules and ignore the outcomes. They really are heartless individuals who are paid to harm other humans in the guise that they are helping them. It is a farce. The builders of the new projects benefit and few others. The rest is just pretence. Those of us left harmed are without a voice because society refuses to believer the facts. They happily and blindly support this evil because it puts on a face of being good and doing good. It is the same whichever party is in control. That is the Government for you.
At the same time, that I was forced to move from affordable housing to housing I could not afford 9/11 took place. At least ten fairs and festivals I was to work at were cancelled. I lost important work for my business as a Busker. I was considered of no importance to the massive 9/11 assistance effort. I was dealt with by FEMA the same way they failed to help the poor in New Orleans in the Katrina storm. Americans should know that in every disaster FEMA helps the rich and middle class but the poor are always made poorer. That is the normal operating procedure of FEMA and the Red Cross. I have been in at least eight disasters FEMA never helped right things getting me back to the level I was at before. Each time there was a way for them to exclude me from being helped. Why? Because I was in a lower economic class than those around me. In 9/11 I had to fight for help and was given too little help too late for it to keep me from losing my apartment. I tried to remedy it. I went to Ohio and used my life savings to buy a house. I had about ,000 left. Enough to let me set up an office, book my self at future events, and get working within 6 months. I bought a house in Ohio because I could afford it. I expected to work traveling so the lack of jobs in that area was no problem.
I had to do it alone by myself. No one would help. Why? In 2000 and 2001, The Government agency began moving me from my affordable apartment ( a month rent.)
I worked in 2000 made 2 to 3 thousand dollars.
In 2001 I made 300 dollars by 9/11 I was going to make a few thousand in the fall. 9/11 came. Everything was cancelled. The
forced move refused to consider my new lower income. I was left to take an apartment where I had to pay out of my pocket over a a month or have no place.
2001 made about .
2002 made nothing or maybe under a thousand.
July 2002 Bought house in Ohio tried to move myself to Ohio. The
truck I had bought to move myself with, (which was least expensive way it could be done with me doing the labor) broke down. Cost me thousands of dollars to fix. THEREFORE, the money I would have lived on for six months while I booking myself was gone. No one would help. I went to NY last trip with truck to get last stuff. Loaded truck. Parked truck. Truck caught fire. Windows were smashed. Truck was impounded. They demanded almost a thousand dollars to get the truck with my stuff in it. Stuff was not ruined by fire. However, it took me two months to get the money to get the truck and I was stranded homeless in NY for two months.
While in NY the toilet tank burst on the second floor in the house in Ohio and water flooded the house, I had recently bought but not gotten to live in. It did damage to the house and gave me a water bill over ,000. The government in Ohio rather than deal with the water issue in a legal and proper way as should be done by any American Government used Jim Crow style procedures to railroad me. I took them to court to defend the American way. There is something very socially unjust about the way we use water in America to defraud the poor. We think it is proper but when we examine it in the Light of truth we realize that it is just another way we use to defraud persons and to benefit those who are better off by harming those who are less off. I had to spend my time fighting this issue. I could not work and do my own legal work.
2003 made about . House was flooded.
2004 made nothing took in few thousand and spent a lot of time in libraries reading law and trying to defend myself and keep the Government from taking the house away over the water issue.
It had never been my intention to put the house in my name. I do not expect that I will ever have any decedents to leave it to. Most of my poor life is wrapped up in serving others for Jesus. The house was to be a ministry and retreat center for our Church, Read the Bible America. Inc.

2004 the hurricane hit the house.
2005 Jan severe flooding hit the house.
In the Hurricane and the flooding I was qualified to receive help under the Unemployment Disaster Assistance Act. This would have allowed me as an unemployed person to be given about a week in income for six months. It was supposed to allow me to put myself back into businesses as a self-employed individual. The intent of Congress is clear. Allow this self-employed person to get back to work. Make it easy for them and give them the benefit of the doubt. In each case the Government workers and the system made sure I was excluded from getting this help. It is help I should have gotten. It would have allowed me to get back to work on a permanent basis and earn what I made before the disaster. The State Government being dumb stupid and blind in response to this has left me alone and unable to get back on my feet. I hope soon to persuade them of their wrongdoing and get help. I am in an odd profession. I do not ever think I can ever make a lot of money at it but it brings laughter to many when I do what I do. I must be a starving artist because I start out too poor to be able to be paid well for what I do. I am so good I should be a millionaire as are most good entertainers in the US. However, I am excluded from ever getting a piece of the American Pie. I only get to help serve others.
