Grace and peace to you all in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus the Christ, Yah Shua ha Massiach.
Greetings fellow believers.
The Church Council is making an error in Judgment. The Martin Luther King Memorial is an addition to the infrastructure of this building. It is a capital improvement. Neither should it be measured in terms of nor should it be compared to annual operating expenses. One or Two million dollars may properly be spent on it especially if the results would be valuable artwork, which is attached permanently to the building and becomes part of the building. Then, amortized over a fifty or one hundred years the annual cost is very little. If in fact it becomes part of the structure then it may be partly the responsibility of the endowment to help cover the cost or, at least to provide equity for a loan to be paid off over a many year period.
Moreover, The idea that because we are a non-profit organization we could not or should not do this is incorrect.
In addition, the idea of memorializing Dr. King alone with some expensive piece of artwork is a dishonor to his legacy and a misunderstanding of his message. I would like to propose that this church decide to do the following.
Seek to raise the funds for and establish a Forty million dollar endowment. Use eight million dollars of it to purchase real estate in Harlem for the establishment of a grass roots based center, which would advocate on behalf of the poor and work to create and establish a local economy that would create self employment opportunities and jobs primarily for Black Men and secondarily for other poor persons. With its goal to raise those in poverty out of poverty and empower them to become rich. Use Two million Dollars of it to create a piece of artwork memorializing Dr. King with one copy here at the church and the other at that center.
Use Thirty million Dollars of it as an endowment, which from the return of its investment operate the center and provide resources for for-profit activities that will enhance and enrich the community of Harlem and its community. 3% to 5% of the return of the endowment should be reinvested for future growth and the rest used to provide seed money, investment money capitalize business ventures and to operate a business incubator for whosoever will to create, establish and improve their own small business venture and to help establish partnerships for not so small business ventures.
There are over 7,000 foundations providing financial gifts to the NYC area. There are several thousand corporations and many wealthy individuals who would help to fund such a center. The greatest need for the Black Community is that Black Men who are often 50% unemployed therefore lack the means to enjoy life liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
These men find it hard to become employed because our society is hostile to their circumstances yet amongst them are many capable, intelligent, and able bodied individuals. So let us empower them to compete with that society which wants to keep them from their piece of the pie. Here are many resources available that many individuals do not know about. Lets create a private locally owned and controlled center that proactively seeks to take poor black persons and help them to become rich Americans.
I offer to volunteer to pursue the funds for this center and memorial if I can do it as a servant and being the person who does most of the work and not making it public that I have anything to do with it. In other words I do not want any public or private credit. I would pursue it from my home in Ohio as a member of this church using the internet and the mails and telephone.
The cost to the church would be
1. help me secure a used or other computer word processor that is internet ready, help with the internet service,
A. the connection to the internet and with my phone line expense. I propose to have a unlimited long distance and local service.
B. Also the cost of some mailing.
However I would not directly seek this money as a representative of Riverside. I would canvas and seek and try to establish a list of foundations and others willing to finance this project and then set it up. During the same time as I am discovering those who might be interested or willing to contribute to this endowment
A. I would also be finding those interested in helping with a project of another organization that helps the homeless,
a small mission in the Bronx, Mt. Edna Mission whose founder and operator passed away last year but who tirelessly provided Christian service to many homeless providing housing in her home. She has passed and the best shelter for homeless is about to pass also if we do not save it.
B. And Funding for Read the Bible America, Inc. a Church I founded and which holds street services with the Homeless and provides bridge housing and other services. This Church does practical things to help the poor. And funds for a Christian Drug rehabilitation program in Yonkers, and one or two other projects. It will be clear to those we communicate with that these are each separate and distinct organizations and projects and what I would do is
1. First, canvas asking would you be interested in or willing to consider a request from these organizations for these projects.
2. Second, May we send you a grant proposal.
Then we would respond to those who show and interest.
It is because we hope that amongst the sources of money out there some may be interested in one project and others in the other projects and some in more than one and by combining the original contact we can save money by using the same communication to test the waters for several groups. One group being Riverside which has a little more in resources and much fame and notoriety and the others that have worthwhile programs and are doing things already but do not have the means to seek funds at this time. I need to do this for these other organizations. They are each struggling to survive. They can not support me in doing this grant search. Riverside could if it chose to do so. My computer was recently fried by the devil.
Then, I would follow up any interested fund sources with additional information and go after what ever money can be raised. Our God is a Good God. He has given this church this little bit of an extra fifteen minutes of fame. Let us use this as a way to raise up an endowment which will do something practical to help the poor in our community. And let us humbly share a little of that fame with some small unknown ministries which are serving the Lord but who would be unlikely to get any recognition or funding because they are small and unknown.
I would be very glad to be your leper beggar for this project. ( Pastor Forbes asked for and preached about the lepers at the gate to Samaria.) We should set out to seek at least fourty million dollars and hope for ten times that much but be happy even if we only get ten percent.
I am only interested in doing this with great anonymity. Any success will be reward for me enough.
If we want to become a global church we need to set up TV cameras and start videotaping services. It needs to be dome with a little bit of a professional flare. If there are Young Adults interested in careers in video and digital media they would be happy to volunteer.
I have had a TV show on the Cable through MNN for many years I am a producer with them. I know how to produce a professional program with a shoestring budget. I am happy to help set this in motion but others would have to carry it on. I would prod them from Ohio. This is something that will take time to do and must be started yesterday or else you will be paying lots of money for the same thing and not getting as good results.
If we videotape all that goes on here we can transfer it to the web and be a global voice for a low price. Let us not let pride go to our heads and ruin us. Let us be careful not to be boring. That is the key factor to success with this kind of thing.
This could be done using old used video cameras to start with. Ones members already have and have in their closets and are not using. The older VHS are probably the best to start with. If we get a crew of volunteers starting on this they can get trained to be prepared when we go to more expensive cameras.
The MNN will provide free training (over a period of time) and provide to us free equipment if we chose to take advantage of what God has already placed there for us to use.
It is very hard for new comers to help here.
In a word Riverside is too much full of itself.
You persons if you are going to advertise yourselves to be open minded and non-stifling need then to be open and willing for newcomers such as myself to help.
For three months now I have wasted my time trying to help, and be a help in this church.
Some have suggested that my appearance is the reason I am being rejected and not accepted here in a place where most of you ( Except Dr. Forbes. ) have been critical of me,
taken pause as to my motives,
and were judgmental of me.
Some of you have treated me somewhat as though I were a leaper. In the mean time I have been homeless, have nevertheless participated to the fullest and given my all to no avail.
I am of very difficult circumstances. One time it cost me Twelve dollars to get here. And then someone, a lady, was critical of me that I took more than one finger food sandwich. Well that meal cost me Twelve dollars, along with the social discourse.
I am not trying now to put distance between yourselves and myself. I am trying to tell you that you do not appear to outsiders and new comers as you think you do. I am not saying you are that way I am telling you, you appear that way. Except that because Christ saved us and loved us we do not want to notice any fault in eachother. I am further trying to tell you that as leaders according to Jesus you are supposed to serve those you lead and to feed us with spiritual food. It is a very tough thing to do.
You offered me showers which was very kind, but no one has said, Oh my God, there is a Child of God who is suffering and Has no where to lay his head and said what would Jesus do and what must we do. No you continued in your activities as a though my circumstances were none of your concerns.
B. This is all well and good but then how do you suppose that you might lead the world in Social Justice.
The guards here gave me so much trouble because coming homeless and dragging all my earthly belonging along and wanting to place them at my seat in church Sunday mornings in the nave at 8 or 9 am and not to have to drag them all around the building during Sunday School and Christian Contemplation, and by such, thus appearing more homeless and being more odd looking than I already am.
No I had to argue with them and had to defer because it was more important to your church to not have my coat on my seat reserving my space and my belongings beside it before the service. You preferred to have me struggle and carry those things all around and then to have to sit somewhere else in church than where I would prefer to sit, because if you go to Sunday School at Riverside Church it is a fact you will get to the sanctuary after it is filled by those who did not go to Sunday School, and the front seat that helps one hear better, and see better and allows someone who may smell a little not to have to make someone sitting along side them suffer the odor during the service becasue there is only room for one or two, has to defer and do otherwise or sit behind a pillar where they can not see what is going on, which they happily do so they can participate in this loving caring congregation.
I offered to wash your feet and to serve for free to clean out the clothing room and thrift shop but I was not good enough to do that in the opinion of the Social Services Committee. Which then fine I did not do that and I sat idle for two months while no one else had time to do it or interest.
James teaches us about how to not mis-judge our brethren or sistern,( Fellow believers) based on how they look or smell or their conditions. And I want you to know that you have a Pastor who is past doing that. And some of you have been very open and tried very hard to accept me even though I might be a little odd. However I was ready to serve and you were not willing for me to serve. I met Doctor Fosdick. I knew him personally. Have any of you?
I know and understand Riverside as well as anyone here. I know its faults and its strengths.
God is calling this church to do something that some of you will not like. He is calling this church to defer from some of its rhetoric about being open minded and to bridge a gap between the open minded liberal part of the church and those who love Jesus but do not have enough faith to believe as some of you do that the Bible can be full of mistakes, half truths and errors and still somehow still be the word of God.
You are super Christians and well know the truth of God so well for sure but you do not know how to practice that truth except with those you beleive to be like minded as you. That is not open minded at all that is being a hypocrite in the worst possible way.
You are going to teach the world about the truth of God, yet you have homeless persons joining your church and you refuse to allow them to be a part of it, or only marginally so.
Well, I have Good News for you God is going to help you. He is going to let you at the same time as you try to set the world in order he is going to let you put your house in order and also be a beacon to the world.
The Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. understood something about personal humility. He loved Jesus and he loved the truth of Jesus. He understood sacrifice, true sacrifice and he understood service. Those were his cornerstones. He wanted to do something for social injustice, not just talk about it. And he realized that setting the example was the part that was the hardest. He also realized he was going to die prematurely so he sought to know and to understand the Gospel and to make sure he was ready to meet his maker and be accepted as a follower of Christ. Let us follow his example and do these things.
If to our side of the argument, we want to win the right side of the Christian Church (Like George Bush and his supporters over to our side) then we must use Christian, Godly love to do it other wise we will not succeed and God will not view us as serving him or having anything to do with him. All those other religions we want to consider love and faith based and open our arms to did not get started by their leader sacrificing themselves because they loved God more than they loved themselves. Our religion was started that way. It did not win over converts through crusades It won those who oppressed it over by sharing this strange godly self sacrificing love with that world. IF we want to win anything as Christians we can only do it in that way. Otherwise we have not won anyone over to us but rather we have given in to the other side and become just like them. Full of ourselves and full of self righteousness rather that God given undeserved righteousness.
You all love God or you would not be here. God Loves you or you would not be here.
Christ gave us two commandments John 13 34 ( I am paraphrasing here) A new Commandment I give unto you that ye love one another even as I have loved you. By this shall all men know that you are my disciples if you love one another with the ( Godly) love that I have loved you with) and that you believe in my that I ma the messiah just as surely as you believe that God is God.
It is not enough for us to have love it must be Gods love. That Love, which came from God through his Holy Spirit to Jesus and then came through Jesus through the Holy Spirit to us. Not Phillios(Brotherly Ungodly and full of self) love but rather agape (Godly selfless) love.
I love each of you and all of you very much. You have done very well. I give you commendations on you r efforts. I know your hearts are in the right place and I realize you are each overwhelmed with things to do. If any of my words are harsh I ask your forgiveness. It is not my desire other than to stimulate you to move forward to better things.
Grace and Peace to you in the Name of Our Lord and Savior, Yah Shua (Jesus) the Messiah ( Christ.)

As lead volunteer of Help The Homeless Campaign, a ministry of my Church, I do not make much money. Most of it goes to this ministry. Just a little goes to me. I am trying my best to live a simple life. I try to get by on about four thousand dollars a year. If I make more I either give it to the ministry or to poor persons to encourage them or save it for next years living expenses. I have done this for many years now and for most of them I was not homeless. Our country does not need to have so many homeless persons. I can show any person how to get by on about ,000 a year. I cannot help persons who are drug users or smokers, or alcoholics. I do not know how to help persons who have those troubles. I only know how to help persons learn to manage their money better and get by on a little and not be homeless. It is possible to live on a little bit. I do it. Also, those who are struggling (the working poor) can learn how to get by on less than they are spending and over time live more comfortably on less. That is good for the working poor. Anyone can double their salary simply by buying everything they are buying now at half price. Most of us buy things that we really do not need. By adjusting spending habits a little and saving the difference a person struggling can make things easier for them self. Almost anything you buy, with some creativity on your part can be gotten for a lower price. Someone who is on a fixed income or a low income can manage their money so they will never be homeless. They can even buy their own home. Even if they are poor they can buy a multi-family dwelling and have rental income. This is what we do as a ministry. We show anyone how to re-locate away from a large city area to places that are less populated, have good services for the needy, are nice to live in but are less expensive to live in. We help persons move there, rent at a reasonable rate, and in time buy their own place and settle there. We know the ropes. If someone is addicted to tobacco, alcohol or drugs I will only agree to help them after they attend a yearlong residential addiction program so it is certain they are not still addicted to anything. If they are, they will never be able to learn how to be frugal and get by. I know of several programs and will gladly refer you to one if you need this help. This is what I have done for years. If you want help please contact me. If you know someone in need of our help you may refer him or her to me. I have a voice mail 212-696-8984. You can leave a short message. Give me a phone number and address to reach you at. Be brief. Speak clearly and slowly. At this time I don't have a phone. It is a large yearly expense. Because I travel back and forth between New York, Harrisburg, Pa and Ohio where I live I can't afford to pay for a phone which I would often be away from and unable to use. Cellular phones are too expensive at this time. Those companies are taking advantage of the consumers. Their rates are excessive for what it costs them to provide the service. The best way to force that industry to lower their rates to fair competitive rates is for us (the consumers) not to use them until they do. One thing we teach persons to do is to be a good consumer. Humans got by for centuries without cellular phones. Many Americans still do not have cell phones. They get by all right. Do not let impulse purchases ruin you financially. Many persons with good incomes squander their money away with cell phones and other impulse purchases. This is poor money management and eventually will ruin them.
Open bank account. You will get Ten Dollars and another Ten Dollars will go to our charity. Or read and donate to us by mail.
We do two main things in this work. One is: We take persons off of the streets, get them through residential programs run by others, and then offer persons coming from such programs and any one who we are sure is not addicted to anything harmful and teach them how to get by on just a little income. If they follow our advice and our program they can get re-established and never need to be homeless again. We teach them how to do this. The other thing we do is try to reach out to persons before they become homeless and teach them ideas and habits that will prevent them from becoming homeless. I have met persons who were homeless on the streets who six months before were making six figure incomes. I know from experience any person can become homeless more quickly than any of us realize. If it happens to you, you will be shocked and dismayed by how poorly most of the big agencies you now help will not really address your needs. You will suddenly realize a lot of it is a big show so they can continue to get most Americans to donate to them and support them. These charities sincerely think they are doing a great job. But it is many small groups like this one who are out there taking up the slack, each of us helping a few persons. Those of us who have dedicated our lives to this and do it even if we have to be poor and suffer in order to do it. That happens because we cannot get the attention and support of enough persons like you. Every day I have to decide: Do I try to spend some time getting persons to help so we have more funds and can do more. Which does not always work, and then I will have wasted time getting nothing g in return. Or, should I just tighten my belt and try to get by on even less and go out on the street and find a homeless person who has fallen through the cracks. Find a person who is not being helped in a practical way by all these large well-funded groups and just work them one on one and do something to help them that will have long lasting effects. It is really hard for me to get others to help and support this work. Yet any one who would really pay attention to what I am doing and how we work. They would help us. Because they would appreciate how well we would use their help and the fact that we are results oriented. We work in a practical way to get results. We are not looking to be applauded or praised for this work. What we want is to be able to help more persons and not have to parade those we help in front of others in order to get their support. And we will not accept any help in the future from those we have helped. Our help is charity with no strings attached. If those we helped appreciate what we have done we ask them to find some other homeless or needy person on their own and show that person what we have showed them. This is what we believe and what we do.
Can we get you to help us? Donations to us are tax-deductible.
As a part of this ministry I am aware of rebates, bargains, sales, etcetera that exist in our world. We have raised thousands of dollars over the past many years by having more affluent persons who want to help our work send in for the rebates for things they would buy any way but would not bother with the rebates. Once they get it they send the rebate money to us. Also, we have bought over ten thousand dollars of products in the past ten years. We started with one thousand dollars, which we have constantly recycled. We buy things with this money whatever it is. We only but things that offer a 100% rebates or very close to that. We give the things away or sell them at flea markets or to our supporters raising money for our work. We send in the rebates and get the money back. Of the thousand dollars we started doing this with over ten years ago we still have about seven hundred dollars of it left. We have bought over ten thousand dollars worth of items with that money using it over and over again. After ten years we still have about . We believe this is a creative way to fund our work. We hope you will realize that we are a creative small non-profit charity that deserves your help and you will support us. What do you think about it?
Tips on: How to keep yourself from becoming homeless. Read below and on next page.
You are invited now, to help us in a special way. Please understand that I do not work for the Commerce Bank, nor do I, or this ministry have any special arrangement with them. They have a promotion we have learned about
and we are trying to take advantage of it to help you and to help our work with the poor. Will you join us?
Visit www.readthebibleamerica.4t.com We help people learn to mange money better. And we help them relocate to more affordable areas.
If you would, go to any commerce bank branch in NY, Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Westchester, Long Island, New Jersey and Pennsylvania and open up a new account. Show them this page. You will get extra ten dollars added to your new account and we will get added to our account for referring you to them. When we get a thousand persons to do this we will have raised Ten Thoousand Dollars which is our goal. We need that much to fix up houses we own in Pennsylvania, which need repairs. Then we can open them up and provide bridge housing to some homeless persons. Make certain that they will give you and us each the Ten Dollars before you open the account. If they will not t do it, do not open the account and call us or write us to let us know. Or, call us.
Go to a Commerce Bank get a Tell a friend flyer put our name and account on the top and hand it to the bank representative and open an account or show them this letter. Call 1-888-751-9000 to find their branch closest to you.
Attention Commerce Bank Customer service representative: Please credit the for referring this customer to our account. Read the Bible America, Inc. 7916608040. We have copied this from your hand out [ 20m11/03cpc| MKT-78-SQ ] I ask you to accept this in place of your "Tell a Friend Flyer" which I have gotten at the Manhattan branch 26th and 7th avenue and from the branch at 285 Mamaroneck Avenue in White Plains NY. I did not want to take too many of them and deplete your stock. I have many friends who may join. This is the end of the inserted message inserted here for the Commerce Bank Customer service representative.
Now back to the person this message was given to: The best part is you can help us and it won't cost you anything out of your pocket. In fact you will get for helping us and we will get Ten dollars, maybe more, when you open an account. That is the kind of charitable giving we really like given the nature of our ministry
Would you do it? Commerce Bank is a wonderful bank.
I have done business with them for many years. They are service and customer oriented. Many branches have a rest room for customers. Have you ever heard of any other bank that has rest rooms? They have coin-counting machines in most locations. Bring in those coins you have been saving and they will count them for you. They have self-service coin counters in most locations. (Please make sure you only have coins in your bag. Take out any bolts or jewelry. Those things can jam up the machines.) They encourage you to teach your children to save and learn the value of having a bank account. They have totally free checking. You can open a checking account there for and they will add to your account and they will add to our account because we referred you to them. Please show them this paper. We suggest you open a savings account with at least One hundred one dollars. They will add to it Ten dollars and give you interest on One hundred eleven dollars. Their rate varies. Are you a married couple? Do you have children? Please do us a really big favor. Bring your whole family and open a separate account for each person in your family. Use the refer a friend slip or concept. This way we will get Ten dollars towards our work with the homeless for each account you open and you will get Ten dollars added to each account you open. Please remain a customer with them for a while. If you open savings accounts make sure you put at least One hundred One Dollars in each account other wise they will charge you a service fee. We don't want you to pay any service fee. Or else open a checking account. You can open one with as little as Twenty Dollars and they are totally free. Free checks, no minimum balance, you can use their coin counter machine. When you use the coin counter machines in supermarkets you pay for using them. They keep ten percent or more. That is not wise money management. Wiser money management would be to open an account at Commerce Bank and bring your coins there. Get them counted for free. Be sure to go through your coins first to pull out any that might be old or rare or valuable and to make sure there is no jewelry or bolts or other things that might break their machine. Also at Commerce Bank you can get a debit card along with your checking account. If you open an account in the Westchester office, 285 Mamaroneck Avenue in White Plains because they do not have many branches in that area they will cover the fees for about two ATM withdrawals each month from ATM's of other banks. So you could live in Yonkers or anywhere and go to White Plains and open an account. Then you can mail deposits in to them and use a local ATM twice a month in Yonkers. You can pay with the debit card in most stores and you will find that it works. It will force you to manage your money a little better than you do. That is a great way to save money. You could open two accounts a savings and a checking for each person in your family. They can tie the two accounts together for you. Then you can keep most of your money in the savings account and get interest on it and move it by phone to the checking account, as you need to spend it. They have a convenient 800 number you can call at any time to do banking by phone with. If you open both accounts on your first visit maybe they will give you Ten dollars in each account and give us for referring you. If they do that it would really be great. Be sure to ask them and make sure they will do it. If they won’t then only open one accounts and let us know. If they will do this and if you are a married couple with children you can open two accounts for each person and really help our work with the homeless and get twenty dollars per person. Just do us a favor and be fair to the bank. Keep the account open for at least a year and bank with them regularly. Open the account and keep it open. The bank is holding this promotion to get new customers. If we get many persons to open accounts and the bank sees many of these accounts close soon after they are opened they will stop this promotion. We will lose this cleaver way to raise money. After you open your account you can refer your friends to the bank. You can get ten dollars more added to your account for each person you refer. If you are struggling and need to improve your situation then by all means keep the money for your self. Or if you are in good shape you could send us five dollars of the money you get. Or you can tell the bank that our ministry referred them. Put our number on the referral “tell a friend “ flyer you can get form the bank when you open the account. Give them a copy of this document. Then we will get the ten dollars added to our account. In either case the person you refer will get ten dollars added to their account. They will also get to bank with a really great bank. In the United States persons are allowed by law to have as many accounts as they like. And most Commerce Bank branches are open from 7:30am until 8pm weekdays and from 9am to 6pm on Saturday and 11 to 4 on Sundays. They really are the most convenient bank in America.
Support our charity faithfully with Three Dollars a month. That is all we ask and all we need. Let us lecture your church club business or group.
If you do open an account make sure you ask their policy on dormant accounts. Where ever you have bank accounts make sure you know what their policy is on dormant accounts and make sure you have activity often enough to keep them from being able to legally steal your money out of your account. Also realize that you or your ancestors might have opened accounts in banks in the past and forgotten them. They would have gone dormant and the money would have been turned over to the state. If that has ever happened you can apply to the state ask a banker where to apply in your state or check with that states department of state or the governor’s office. You can get your money back. In most cases states have a list of dormant accounts by the name the account was in. There are millions of dollars being held by states in these accounts. If any of your ancestors lived in any other states take the time to check with that state to see if there might be some money there, which you can claim. Most state legislatures passed laws like this to help protect your money. Recently, as banks became cleverer they realized they could keep some of this money just by enacting a policy of charging you a fee each month after your account becomes inactive. They decide how many months of inactivity makes the account inactive by their policies. The bankers think they are clever. Really it just shows how dishonest our society and culture have become. Our nations banks and bankers don’t understand or respect whom the money they have on deposit belongs to. When you leave it with them on deposit it is your money and they should understand that. I hope that the Commerce Bank would straighten up and fly right on this. Still, since every bank follows this practice, then let’s use this promotion the Commerce Bank is running and please, you go open an account at Commerce Bank and get the ten dollars, and make sure you ask them about charges for not using your account and keep it active. I believe they now want activity every six months. Ask and make sure. Then make sure you do something with the account often enough to keep it from becoming inactive. We at the Help the Homeless Campaign, a division of our small church called Read the Bible America, Inc. are into good money management and are encouraging you to protect your assets. I have done banking with Commerce Bank for many years. I am very happy with them. I wish they would not take money from dormant accounts though.
Or if you, the person this message was given to do not want to bother to open an account to help us, but you want to help you can just send us a donation. We need your help. You can donate to Read the Bible America, Inc or Help the Homeless Campaign. You can send a check made out to either name. We will accept any amount you are happy to give us. We are seeking those who will faithfully donate Three dollars a month. We ask them to start by sending us at least Fifteen Dollars and then put Three Dollars aside every month for 5 months. Then in the sixth month send us Nineteen Dollars and eightey-five cents. that is 6 times Three dollars per month plus 5 times 37 cents (postage you saved) or ($1.85). This way you save on the 37 cents postage for five months and send it to us in the sixth month. We ask for the Fifteen Dollars up front so we will know we can count on you. (If you cannot afford that please send us at least Three Dollars. For this plan to work you must faithfully put the Three Dollars aside each month and save it so that you have it ready to send to us in the sixth month. We ask for this small amount (Three Dollars a month) because it allows most everyone who wants to help us to be able to help us. We don't need a large amount. We are very good at getting a hundred dollars of value out of twenty dollars sent to us. We only need a little. We need it faithfully. We won't put you on a mailing list and send out exhaustive requests for your help. If we don’t hear from you in the sixth month we will call you or send you one self-addressed stamped envelope and pray that you get it and respond. We will be counting on your ninetyeen Dollars and 85 cents so we can meet our obligations. Please don’t disappoint us.

TIP: How not to become homeless.
Put at least 11% and up to as much as you want of your pay check into a savings account with the intention that you will never ever spend it. In fact if you do this and teach your children to do this, your grandchildren will be very wealthy. If you are a sincere Christian and believe in tithing you should tithe to your home church faithfully but you should also put another 11% to 15% of your paycheck into a savings account with the intention that you will never ever spend it. You must set this money aside when you get paid. It must be the first thing you do with your pay. This way you won't spend it. In fact research shows that those who set this amount aside first, and force them self to save when they first get their money are also usually more careful how they spend the rest of their money. In fact they usually have money left over when they get their next paycheck while persons who don't put the 11 to 15% aside as the first thing they do end up spending all their money by the time their next paycheck arrives. They often have nothing left to save and many have to borrow to make ends meet. We are a valid 501 C (3) charity recognized by the IRS. And as a church we are also by law a Tax-exempt organization. This is about a small practical agency that helps homeless relocate. Please help us to help them.
How to become rich: If your boss would tell you that the company can no longer keep you on at your current pay and that you either must take a ten percent reduction in pay or else they will have to let you go. You might not quit your job, especially if you like it. You would just find a way to get by on less. The best way to do that is to learn to buy things at half price and only buy what you really need. This is our tip for you today. If you follow it you will not only never become homeless but you will probably end up a very wealthy person. One of the best ways you can do this is to open an account at Commerce bank and use it to regularly deposit 11% to 15% of your income each time you get paid. When you get some funds accumulated you can buy a CD or put the money in higher interest bearing accounts. Even if you don’t live near a Commerce Bank branch you can open an account with them. You can plan ahead to open an account with them whenever you are going to be making a trip near one of their branches. You can open two accounts a savings and a checking tied together so you can move money between the two accounts. You can use your regular checking account for day to day transactions. Each time you get a paycheck deposit it at commerce bank (by mail if you are not nearby.) Keep 11% to 15% in the savings account. Never plan to spend it. Pretend you made less. Spend on that basis. This practice will cause you to be more thoughtful of how you spend the rest of your money. Sometimes where before you followed this practice you were carefree what you would buy or what it costs, now you will find you are more careful and you will find that you get by happily on less than you earn. In other words you will find that you are making more than you need. Now that is the definition of a rich person: someone who makes more money than they need to live on. If you continue in that way you will become a rich person indeed. You will have more money than you need and you will have a large savings. When you leave it to your children, having taught them this way of handling their money you will have created wealth in your family. That is the best way to prevent yourself or your offspring from ever becoming homeless. That is the goal of our ministry. Preventing persons from becoming homeless by teaching them wise ways of handling their money. Visit www.readthebibleamerica.4t.com
The following is a most important fact about how to prevent your self from becoming homeless. Your rent or living expense should not be more than one quarter of your monthly income. If it is more than that then you must lower your rent or raise your income. If you get paid weekly and your monthly rent is more than your weekly pay you are in danger of becoming homeless. You will find it hard to get by. You will always be short. This is a well-known and well-established fact. Government programs that help people buy housing, or qualify for subsidized housing and banks often use one third of one's income to decide what they can afford for a rent or a mortgage. This is a mistake. Most persons in our society who have bought a house on that basis find it hard to make ends meet. They find they have to borrow to get by. It does not matter how much they make. People have a tendency to live up to or above their means. It is a national problem. Get yourself out of the nightmare. You can lower your rent by sharing a place with someone else, or buying instead of renting. It is well known amongst real estate professionals that when you buy a four family unit your rent and heat should be free to you. Or you can raise your income, get extra work, a second job or take in a renter.
We are hoping that you will realize that this is a small sincere charity that wants to do practical things to really help reduce homelessness in America. Both by rescuing some homeless persons and by teaching those who are not homeless how to better handle their finances so that they never become in danger of becoming homeless. We have dealt with this for a long time. We have insight into this mater. Unfortunately we don’t have a voice. The government won’t listen to us. There are things the government does with your tax money that constantly causes more homelessness to exist. We are talking about persons like you who have worked all their life and thought they were living well and then something happens and it makes them homeless. There are thousands of person who are homeless simply because they can’t afford rent. That is because most rents in America are too high. We don’t have room here to go into this but we understand it very well. It is one of those things where those in power don’t understand it and getting them to understand is just as hard as getting persons like you to help us. Our ministry knows how to get about one quarter of the homeless persons in America into housing. But we are too poor and too small to get the funds to do it. Yet doing it would probably cost about two million dollars using our plan. But no one will listen to it and take it seriously. We are just too poor and small ourselves to do it.
If you are involved with a foundation or a large company or are very wealthy and you would talk to me and listen to what I am saying and try to understand it, I can show you how to use a little money and help many Americans who are homeless get a place they can afford to live in. So please instead of throwing this away or ignoring it - write me. Send a copy of any letter to both addresses so if I am in NY or Ohio I can get it and respond. My Card: This is written in small type because it costs money to print. The smaller the type the more we can say with the least cost. You can bring this to any copy machine and for 20 cents enlarge it. By doing this you will save our small, poor, non-profit ministry lots of money. Most people don’t care to help us. If we printed this with large type on two or three sheets many copies would just get thrown away. It would cost us a lot more and it would be wasted. Those persons who have a heart and do care are most likely to go the extra mile and either read the small print or enlarge it on a copier. And they would appreciate our spending less to print and distribute this message. We can come to your church or business or club and give a lecture on keeping yourself from becoming homeless. We can bring a manager from Commerce Bank. Each person can open an account and put our suggestions to the test. If you have at least 100 persons who will open the account we can come for free (We will get for our ministry. If not we will ask a small donation.) Each person will get ten dollars if they open an account. We can teach and preach on good money management at any church or give a lecture on it at any other place. For this to happen we need you to contact us and invite us. Please invite us.
